Welcome to my weekly adventure to “Occupy the Blog-o-Sphere” each Thursday. I offer this hopefully uplifting picture and message to brighten your day and bring something buoyant into your life. As you move through your day with a renewed outlook, may you pass it along.
Open the door. You never know what awaits you and the world.
Eugène Delacroix, born April 26, 1798, is considered one of the greatest French Romantic painters, or so say a bunch of art historians who study this kind of thing. Who am I (a person who has trouble drawing and recognizing the evocative power of stick figures) to question them? He–we’re back to Delacroix now–was influential in developing Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting. Because of his artistic vision and talent, other artists were freer to explore different ways of expressing their visions. Out of those explorations came masterpieces. Delacroix opened the door. Take a peek at just a snippet of what happened…
Imagine what you could do if you follow your heart’s desire and dare to open the door…

Funny isn’t it? I was the SHY one growing up…but I’ve found now, after opening many doors, that less and less intimidates me and I’m having FUN!

I’ve always felt that way, even if it was scary at the time.

I agree. It’s opening that first door that is often the most difficult.

That’s about my level of art knowledge. I was stepping out on a pretty flimsy limb here. I know what I love when I see a piece of art and for the life of me I don’t get modern art. 😐

It sure does. But it’s a comfort to know that we all have the same 24 hours per day. It’s just a matter of how we choose to use them. 😉

You do, indeed, light up the blogoshpere, Lorna. I love these paintings and the message. I enjoy painting–just wish I had the time to do it more often. Life does have it’s limitations, heh?

Art – an expression of our inner selves shouting through our brushes.
Of course, crazy goes hand and hand with art, too. Look at Dali – Picasso – Van Gogh.
Soooo …. let out your inner crazy and make magic on a canvas.
Love this, Lorna ….
Did I mention I am so happy to be back on the blogger scene? Missed you and everyone who I follow and follows me.
Huggies …

Love them! For some reason Monet always reminds me of my fav Jack Handey quote: “When this girl at the museum asked me who I liked better, Monet or Manet, I said, ‘I like mayonnaise.’ She just stared at me, so I said it again, louder. Then she left. I guess she went to try to find some mayonnaise for me.”

I imagine I’d never be able to move to stick figures in visual art but I did imagine being an author and I am.
